Zij klaagden eind'lijk God hun nood,
die in zijn liefde wondergroot
hen aanzag, met hun lot bewogen.
Hij maakte, trouw aan zijn verbond,
dat Isra?l zelfs in 's vijands ogen
in 't vreemde land genade vond.
Eventually they complained to their Lord who is His endless love looked unto them, affected with their fate. He made, true to his promise, that Israel found, even in the eyes of their enemies, grace in this strange land.
