Waarom sluit gij uw ogen?
Zijn licht ontsteekt het licht,
zijn geest komt aangevlogen,
verheft uw aangezicht!
Dankt dan den Heer als gij
de doodsnacht zijt ontvloden-
de schemer gaat voorbij,
de morgen is ontboden.
